With the owners of Washbrook Cottage Nik and Nicki Marsh and their two sons living in the farmhouse next door a warm and heartfelt welcome can always be guaranteed.
As a family we pride ourselves in the quality of the 5 star traditional accommodation and overall experience that we provide to our guests. We are on onsite and available to help personalize your holiday wherever possible.
Welcome Basket: On arrival you will find a basket filled with items to help you settle in with as little fuss as possible.
Groceries: The last thing you will want to do when you arrive in your self-catering character Cotswold cottage is to run out to the shops. Make an order for delivery from one of the major grocery stores online and we will make sure to accept it and get it unpacked before you arrive.
Local Information: You will find a binder in your cottage explaining all of its services and features. It will also include information on things to do and where to eat during your stay with us.
Transportation: We understand that many of our guests are staying with us to utilize the great local walking and cycling and may not have their own transport. Why not let us arrange a pick-up from the local train station free of charge.
Horse Riding at Washbrook Cottage
Washbrook is ideally suited for Equestrians. It is situated only 12 miles from Cheltenham racecourse, 9 miles from Gatcombe Park and 20 miles from Badminton Horse Trials in Gloucestershire.
The farm is home to Nicki’s two very friendly horses, Suzy Q and Neeco and has room for one more in a large stable if you would like to bring the Gee Gee for a holiday also. In addition to good grazing in a number of paddocks there is also a small school and ample parking for your horsebox.
Easy to read directions and maps for picturesque local hacks can be provided and it generally doesn’t take much to convince Nicki to join and show you the way!!
Walkers & Ramblers – The Cotswold Way
Access to the Cotswold Way couldn’t be simpler as it runs directly past Washbrook with the Farmhouse often being mentioned in the walking literature due to its intriguing stonework.
There are also a number of excellent circular routes of varying difficulty close to Washbrook. Maps and detailed directions can be found in your welcome pack and personalized guided walks can be arranged to make sure you don’t miss a thing especially the watering holes along the way!
Cycling at Washbrook Cottage
If cycling is your thing you are well catered for at Washbrook. A lockable storage unit can be provided for use during your stay for securing up to 6 bikes.
Maps of local rides can be provided and also directions to local forest cycle paths for the more adventurous amongst you.
Personal Training at Washbrook Cottage
We of course want nothing more than for you to sit back and relax during your stay. If you do fancy getting in some exercise while you are with us Nicki is a Level 3 qualified personal trainer and can offer either 1 on 1 or group sessions at our gym in the Mill House. She is also a qualified running technique instructor and coach so can lead you on runs out into the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside.
